Night to Shine

Friday, February 11, 2022 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Night to Shine celebrates the uniqueness of each individual guest by providing an unforgettable night where they are welcomed, valued, and loved!

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom experience, centered on God's love, for individuals with special needs ages 14 and older. Portview Church is excited to be a part of this worldwide movement that God is using as a catalyst to change how cultures embrace people with disabilities and to rally the church worldwide to honor their local community of people with special needs, ensuring they know they are valued and loved.

Every guest of night to shine enters this complimentary event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup stations, shoe shining stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a catered dinner, karaoke, and, of course, dancing!

All volunteers will receive on-site training prior to our Night to Shine prom. The dates of the training are being determined and will be communicated once they are set.

Night to Shine launched in 2015 with 44 host churches and 15,000 volunteers honoring more than 7,000 kings and queens of the prom. In February 2020, 721 host churches and 215,000 volunteers came together to celebrate 110,000 honored guests with special needs. This past February, Night to Shine innovated and endured with the first-ever virtual Night to Shine celebrating thousands of honored guests through unique adaptations including a complete virtual video experience and socially distanced Shine Thru drive-thru events.

"Night To Shine is my favorite night of the year, but not just because we get to throw the biggest, best party for people with special needs in the world. It's my favorite because we get to remind people who are often overlooked or forgotten that their life has purpose and that they are loved. When you tell someone they have value, that their life is significant and that they are loved by the God of this universe, it changes everything. Every town, every village, every nation needs a Night to Shine because we believe every single person needs to hear that they were created in love, by love and for love, and that they ARE loved," said Tim Tebow, founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation.
