Our Values

a place to   b e l o n g

We believe that following Jesus is a journey and we are all on a different place in that journey.  The first step is to understand that Jesus came to earth, lived a sinless life, died and rose again so we could belong to God's family.  When we confess to God that we've done some things wrong, ask His forgiveness and turn our lives over to Him, we become a part of His family.  As a local church, Portview desires to be a physical expression of that spiritual family.  We hope that as you join us, you will truly feel like you have found a place to belong.

the freedom to   g r o w

Just as a tree grows as it matures, followers of Jesus are called to grow in their faith.  We trust that through the passionate worship and purposeful preaching of the Word in our weekend services, exceptional children's ministries, small groups, Christian education classes and special events, people of all ages will discover the freedom to grow on their individual spiritual journey.  We also trust that as we grow individually, we will grow in our relationships with each other.

an opportunity to   s e r v e

In the Bible, Jesus calls us to a life of service.  As you find a place to belong and grow on your spiritual journey, Portview is dedicated to finding ways to help you give yourself to a life of service.  Each one of us has been given gifts and abilities that God wants us to use through the power of the Holy Spirit.  We will help you discover what those gifts and abilities are and then provide opportunities for you to serve.
